Michael Blake’s Wild Blue Yonder
While forging a prolific solo career the composer and saxophonist Michael Blake has also played a major role in the bands of John Lurie, Ben Allison and Steven Bernstein. His latest album Tiddy Boom (Sunnyside Records) received rave reviews and topped the year end ‘Best Jazz of 2014’ lists. Wild Blue Yonder is a new project featuring Wayne Horvitz and Dylan van der Schyff that explores layers of sound that have virtually no bounds.
