Final Jazz & Sushi at Hiroshi’s tonight (Sept 27)

Floyd-Hiroshis
Greg Williamson, Buddy Catlett and Floyd Standfer with Hiroshi Egashira at Hiroshi’s, June 2006

After 7 1/2 years of presenting jazz every Friday night, tomorrow night (Friday, September 27) will be the final Jazz & Sushi at Hiroshi’s.

Hiroshi’s catering business, Uwajimaya business, and stadium sushi stands have done so well that he has built a larger catering kitchen, which he will move into next month, and he is shutting down his day-to-day restaurant.

Hats off to drummer Greg Williamson for the fine music that he has curated and for Hiroshi’s for presenting a weekly paid jazz gig for hundreds of musicians.

The last night is sure to be a blowout night with many guests sitting in. We recommend arriving early and getting a good seat!
