Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives

Seattle First Baptist Church on First Hill (at the corner of Seneca and Harvard). 6pm

From EARSHOT JAZZ:The Seattle Jazz Vespers launch their fall-winter 2009 concert season with Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives. Stickshift Annie Eastwood’s sultry voice guides the performance through an eclectic combination of blues, jazz, rock and roll, and swing. Kimball Conant is an innovative stylist on six-string and slide guitar who adapted the finger-style approach from his ukulele and banjo-picking youth. Oklahoma and Kansas account for Kimball’s western swing and rockabilly roots. A decade of travel in Latin America also provides Kimball with a repertoire of tunes he sings in Spanish.
