From The Seattle Times:

Saxophonists Pharaoh Sanders, Joe Lovano and Miguel Zenon, trumpeter Dave Douglas and pianist Jacky Terrasson are some of the headliners announced this week by Seattle jazz non-profit Earshot Jazz for its annual festival, which runs Oct. 10 through Nov. 11 at various venues around the city.

Other shows feature bassist Linda Oh, vocalist Carmen Lundy and blues men Alvin Youngblood Hart and Corey Harris.

The festival opens with a tribute to Thelonious Monk, on his birthday, with “Monk 10/10,” featuring Seattle keyboardists and a 10-piece ensemble conducted by piano man Wayne Horvitz, performing transcriptions of Monk’s famous 1959 Town Hall concert.

Earshot will post the full festival schedule Aug. 15 on its website.
