Congrats to Esperanza Spalding and her win for Best New Artist last night at The Grammys. Anytime Joe Lovano and other jazz artists are thanked on national television it is a good thing. Spalding’s star will certainly continue to rise … next stop, the Portland Jazz Festival which starts this weekend.
